Digital Image Processing is an emerging research field where many revolutionary ideas and efficient algorithms have been developed over the past few decades in the World. The objective of this FDP is to light on the promising research areas such as Image Processing, Pattern Recognition, emerging trends and its diverse applications. It starts with fundamentals and different processing technologies both in frequency and spatial domains. The rapid increase in computing power and communication speed coupled with computer storage, have led to a new age of digital image applications such as digital watermarking, medical image processing, biometrics, content and annotation based image retrieval, visual cryptography and its applications. We provide hands-on training using MATLAB tool to demonstrate fundamental concepts of Digital Image Processing i.e. mathematical tools for image processing, Morphological Image Processing, Compression, frequency domain analysis, signal transformation, filter design, image acquisition, enhancement, smoothing, denoising, compression, watermarking, visual cryptography, segmentation etc.
