Inaugural Session
The FDP started with inaugural ceremony chaired by Patron Prof. (Dr.) Vijay Anant Athavale ,Convener Prof. (Dr.) R. K. Shukla, Co-Convener Prof. (Dr.) Dharmendra Singh, Co-coordinators Prof. (Dr.) Pikesh Bansal Dr. Anuj K. Jain and Dr. Manish Saraswat in presence of esteemed guests from industry Mr. Ravi Sood , Mr. Mohit Raj Goyal.
Day 1 (10-06-2019) ; Session 1
Session 1, 09:30 A.M. to 11:30 A.M.: The inaugural session of FDP on Industry 4.0 and Smart Manufacturing was started by Mr. Ravi Sood, General Secretary, Industrial Association, Badli and Mr. Mohit Raj Goyal, Director Motif Electric Motor. They introduced the concept of Road to Industry 4.0 and Technologies Enabling Industry 4.0.

Day 1 (10-06-2019) ; Session 2
Session 2, 12:00 P.M. to 02:00 P.M.: The next session on the first day was on “Using Evolving Curves to Track Dynamic Boundaries in Manufacturing” by Dr. Priyaranjan, Professor, Amity University, Noida. He discussed the relationship between Industry and academia.

Session 3, 03:00 P.M. to 05:30 P.M.: The next session on the first day was on “Road to Industry 4.0” by Ms. Rashmi Jain, Strategic Planner/ Consultant, TMU Moradabad. She discussed the relationship between Industry and academia. She threw some lights on major differences between industry and academia. She talked about the differences between industry 3.0 and industry 4.0 and discussed the impact of industry 4.0 on education.
Day 2 (11-06-2019) ; Session 1
Session 1, 9:30 A.M. to 11:30 A.M.: The first session on the second day was on “Modelling & Simulation using FEM” by Dr. Anurag Dixit Assistant Professor, G.B. Pant Govt. Engineering College, New Delhi. He discussed the need of modelling using FEM and FEM software packages. He explored the advance application of FEM in Textile Reinforced Composites. He also discussed fracture modelling using XFEM.
Day 2 (11-06-2019) ; Session 2
Session 2, 11:30 A.M. to 01:30 P.M.: The next session on the second day was on “Role of Artificial Intelligence in Robotics” by Dr. N. R. Chauhan, Associate Professor at Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women (IGDTUW), Delhi. He started his discussion with the definition of Artificial Intelligence (AI), discussed five sectors in which India has adopted artificial intelligence. He also explored various barriers to achieve the goals of AI. He talked about the evolution of AI and its types. He discussed the evolution of various Robots and role of AI in Robotics. He discussed various areas of application of robotics with the aspect of Artificial Intelligence
Day 2 (11-06-2019) ; Session 3
Session 3, 02:30 P.M. to 3:30 P.M.: The next session on the second day was on “Industry 4.0: Indian Perspective”by Dr. V. R. Mishra, Professor & Head (ME), G.L. Bajaj Institute of Technology & Management, Greater Noida. He started his discussion with by introducing evolution and building blocks of industry 4.0 and whom to it suits. He also talked about indian perspective of industry 4.0 mainly in indian economy and education system. He threw some light on cyber-physical system, concept of batch size, machine to machine communication and its real time integration. At the end he talked about industry 4.0 readiness with the help of vocational education.
Day 3 (12-06-2019) ; Session 1
Session 1, 9:30 A.M. to 11:30 A.M.: The first session on the third day was on “Industry 4.0” by Mr. Deepanshu Gupta, Director, HBHC Valve Company, Noida. He introduced the timeline, development and building blocks of industry 4.0. He talked about the recent developments in manufacturing industry and application of Cyber-Physical Systems in industry. He also discussed technologies and open ended research areas related to industry 4.0.
Day 3 (12-06-2019) ; Session 2
Session 2, 11:30 A.M. to 01:30 P.M.: The next session on third day was taken by Dr. Krishna Vijay Ojha, Assistant Professor, KIET Group of Institutions, Ghaziabad. He conversed about “Spray Forming of Al-Si Alloy and their Characterization”. He discussed gas dynamics of nozzle and described the method of spray forming processes. He also discussed about process parameters like melt superheat, gas pressure, nozzle substrate, rotation speed, tube diameter and nozzle design- convergent and divergent. He talked about binary phase diagram of Al-Si. At the end he also discussed the performance characterization like microstructure, hardness, tensile strength, density and porosity, thermal conductivity and overspray particle characterization.
Day 3 (12-06-2019) ; Session 3
Session 3, 02:30 P.M. to 3:30 P.M.: The next session on the third day was taken by Dr. Amul Aggarwal Director, BBDIT Ghaziabad. He conversed about “Automation & Robotics using PLC and Pneumatic”. He discussed about automation and control mainly pneumatic. He also talked about electronic control using logic gates. He also discussed about programmable logic control and its components and advantages. He talked about pneumatic use in process industry and production.
Day 4 (13-06-2019) ; Session 1
Session 1, 9:30 A.M. to 11:30 A.M.: The first session on the fourth day was on “Development of Cost-effective MEMS Piezoresistive Pressure Sensor Technology: Possibilities in India” by Dr. Kulwant Singh, Associate Professor, Manipal University, Jaipur. He started his discussion with the IC fabrication and its stages. He discussed the evolution of micro fabrication like layering, patterning, etching, impurity doping in -microelectronic to microsystems. He talked about VLSI/MEMS technology optimization in fabrication of square and circular diaphragm based sensor. He also demonstrated few working models.
Day 4 (13-06-2019) ; Session 2
Session 2, 11:30 A.M. to 01:30 P.M.: The next session on the fourth day was on “A way to Achieve Circular Economy via Industry 4.0” by Dr. Bhupendra Prakash Sharma Associate Professor, Amity University, Uttar Pradesh. He discussed the potential application of industry 4.0 to create a circular economy. He discussed the mechanism, technology, uses and comparative advantages of industry 4.0. He talked about the simplified model of the circular economy. He also mentioned the actions required to lead the way to transition to a circular economy.
Day 4 (13-06-2019) ; Session 3
Session 3, 02:30 P.M. to 3:30 P.M.: The next session on the fourth day was on “Assessment of Mechanical Properties of 3D Printed Parts” by Dr. Harish Kumar Assistant & Head (ME), NIT, Delhi. He discussed the additive manufacturing technologies-FDM in which he emphasised on fused deposition modeling and the workflow in FDM. He talked about the process parameter like layer thickness, infill shape and density, spatial orientation, raster angle, nozzle temperature, line width, flow rate and print speed. At the end he discussed the assessment of wear and tensile properties of modelled and fabricated parts.At the end he also discussed the simulated stress profile, taguchi analysis and artificial neural network.
Day 5 (14-06-2019) ; Session 1
Session 1, 09:30 A.M. to 11:30 A.M.: The first session on the last day was on “Industry 4.0” by Mr. A. Praveen Kumar, Sr. Industrial Engineer, ShriRam Pistons & Rings Ltd., Ghaziabad. He unleashed all nine pillars of Industry 4.0, benefits and current status of Industry 4.0 in the context of India and globally. He also introduced various challenges in the adoption of industry 4.0 in India.
Day 5 (14-06-2019) ; Session 2
Session 2, 11:30 A.M. to 01:30 P.M.: The next session on the last day was on “Intelligent Systems” by Dr. Nidhi Goel. Associate Professor at Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women (IGDTUW), Delhi. She started her discussion with the various technologies for smart manufacturing like artificial intelligence, drone, edge computing, predictive analytics and machine learning. She talked about the various applications of artificial intelligence like Siri, Alexa, Pandora, superhuman doctor etc. She discussed machine learning and how it is different than deep learning. At the end talked about convolutional neural networks.
Day 5 (14-06-2019) ; Session 3
Session 3, 02:30 P.M. to 03:30 P.M.: The next session on the last day was on “Importance of Industry 4.0 in Manufacturing field” by Mr. Shubham Sharma working as an engineer at ABB India Ltd. Gurgaon. He started his discussion with the modular manufacturing cells and various function packages. He talked about automation requirements and possibilities in industry 4.0. He pointed out major challenges of the future and how to tackle them with the help of industry 4.0.
