The Department of Computer Science & Engineering, ABES Engineering College, Ghaziabad has conducted one week FDP on “”Computational Intelligence” during 29th April-3rd May 2019.
On 29 April 2019, the inaugural ceremony was graced by the Director ABESEC, Prof. Vijay Athavale, Dean Academics, Prof. Gajendra Singh, HOD-CSE & Convener FDP, Prof. Shailesh Tiwari, Guest Speaker Mr. Zubeir Siddiqui, Consultatnt TCS and other distinguished guests from research and academics.Director ABESEC, Prof. Vijay Athavale and Prof Shailesh Tiwari delivered a welcome note to all guests and participants.
The FDP was open to all disciplines of engineering and designed for the faculty members and research scholars who were keen to learn and enhance their knowledge in the field of Computational Intelligence, Data Analytics, Computing Techniques, Business Intelligence etc.Various eminent speakers from different reputed institutions delivered talks on Computational Intelligence. Faculties working in different institutions affiliated from AKTU were invited to get benefit from this golden opportunity.
Around 50 faculty members participated from different organizations with great zeal and passion. Faculty development Program on “Computational Intelligence” focused on advancements in the field of Computational Intelligence, its theory & practices and its applications to solve complex Engineering problems.Computational Intelligence is the theory, design, application and development of biologically and linguistically motivated computational paradigms. This program is aimed to cater faculty members, researchers & application developers from a wide range of Computational Intelligence related areas.

Speaker: Mr. Zubeir Siddiqui is Senior Consultant in TCS and having more than 18 year of IT experience. During his tenure he worked as a technical lead, project lead, Project Manager, Solution architect, Group Manager and now serving in capacity of Account Manager for Japan IT Manufacturing. He is certified and renowned name in the field of Data Science from Johns Hopkins University
He took the technical session on Machine Learning. He talked about the general practical issues related to our daily to daily life and the application of Machine Learning. He took the example of recent release movie Avenger End Game. Taking the example of movie he talked about the movie review system and describes how modelling parameters are selected and corresponding models are selected. He took the example of image recognition system, Speech recognition system etc. He discussed about the different types of Machine learning i.e Supervised, non-Supervised and Reinforcement. He talked about the classification techniques.
He discussed the case study of predicting Golden batch of pharmaceutical manufacturing. He described the model and different parameters used in the model. Apart from it he also answered the questions related to ANN and Deep learning.

Speaker: Prof. Archana Singh is presently working as Professor in Amity University NOIDA with 17 years of industry and academic experience. She completed her Ph. D.in Data Mining and CRM, Amity University, Noida. She has presented many papers in refereed International and National conferences in India and abroad and International and National research publications.
She discussed in detail the application, concept and current scenario of Deep Learning with real life scenario. She discussed the live demo and results of her research work on Deep learning with the help of convolution Neural Network and different kernel functions.
She explained the comparison analysis of ML, SVM, HMM-GMM and deep Learning approach accuracy on Speech recognition, text and Object Identification. She informed the need of multi TB data in storage of it, high end processing and latest tools required for processing the Dataset.

Speaker: Dr. Neetesh Kumar received his M.Tech and Ph.D. degrees from the School of Computer and Systems Sciences, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. . He is currently a Faculty Member with the Atal Bihari Vajpayee- Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management (IIIT) Gwalior, India. He has published many research publications in world’s top tier publishers like IEEE journals and transactions.
He started his session with difference between hard computing and Soft Computing techniques. He introduced Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) technique and discussed different approaches of PSO such as 2-D Otsu PSO, Active Target PSO, Adaptive PSO, Adaptive Mutation PSO, Adaptive PSO Guided by Acceleration Information , Attractive Repulsive Particle Swarm Optimization, Binary PSO, Cooperative Multiple PSO, Dynamic and Adjustable PSO, Extended Particle Swarms
He explained the exploration and exploitation factors with local and global best and the pseudo code in different real time applications.

Speaker: Mr. Rahul Raj is an IT Analyst in TCS, working in capacity of Project Lead for US based Animal Health Organization. He has over all experience of 6+ years in IT industry on various Business Intelligent tools like SSAS, SSAS Tabular analyzer and Tableau etc. Other than this he has exceptional expertise in PL/SQL and developing the business Intelligent solution of industry class efficiently.
He started to introduce about the terms Business 4.0, Block Chain and Artificial Intelligence and Industry 4.0. After talking briefly about these topics, he moved on to the Business Intelligence. He talked about what is Business Intelligence and how it is enabling better decision faster in the business. He also covered the history of business intelligence by talking on the different waves of business intelligence that are evolved over a period of time. He explained the 5 layers of business intelligence systems and how different tools are enabling these layers.
He discussed about the Cloud BI, which is SaaS and their major provider. He talked about the different data governance rules like GDPR, HITECH and HIPPA which should be consider before selecting any Cloud BI system for the solution for business. He explained the Multi Geo functionalities and their current providers in the area of Cloud BI.

Speaker: Dr. Suneeta Tiwari is Ph.D. from IIT Delhi. She is working as Assistant Professor in G B Pant Govt. Engg. College Delhi. Her research interest includes Soft Computing, Location Based Services, GPS log Mining, Recommender Systems, Web Service Recommendations.
She discussed recommender system in detail. Different paradigms of recommender systems like Collaborative Filtering, Content based, knowledge based, hybrid recommender systems their advantages and disadvantages. She also discussed Context aware recommender systems, Location based recommender systems the application, concept, privacy authorization, trust and reputation aware LBRS, Complexity and evaluation criteria and application.

Dr Neetesh from ABV-IIITM, continued with his discussion on Particle Swarm Optimization. Application for the Constrained Problems. He shared the research aspects of the concept and explained why it is still popular approach in problem solution.
He discussed adaptive PSO taking example of Routing Problem. He discussed his experimental results. Next he discussed FJA PSO: A Green Routing Algorithm for IOT enabled Software Defined Wireless Sensor Network. He explained the proposed model, its fitness function to solve Two-level clustered routing problem in software defined wireless sensors network. He then discussed how to publish good research papers in reputed journals.

Speaker: Mr Mayank Gupta is having more than 5 year of experience in IT industry. His designation is IT Analyst and working in capacity of business analyst and solution architect for Data Analytics and Visualization Platform. He has successfully designed and developed crucial IT systems involving complex data modeling, data transformation logic and visualizations. His expertise is in Data Visualization and descriptive analytics using Tableau, Power-BI etc.
He has given his session on Data Visualization. He talked about the implication of subject in different domains and roles. He explained the science and art related to the data visualization and said that data visualization is a science and art both once cannot make any mistake in making data visualization, in the rules of science and at the same time person should follow all the rules of art. He talked about the different data types used in data visualization.
He talked about the aesthetic features included in data visualization like line width, position, color, shape, size, font style, font size etc. Then he covered how data fields are mapped with these aesthetic features.
After covering the basics, he started talking about the different charts and for which purpose which charts are used like pie, bar, column charts are used for showing the proportion; scatter plot, bubble chart etc are used for relationship etc are covered. While explaining the uses of different types of charts he also explained the statistical importance and statistical calculations involved in the chart.
Then he talked about the principles of figure design and shared best practices for chart design.
At last he talked about the importance of data visualization in the journey of a person in becoming Data Scientist.

Speaker: Dr Anita Sahoo is working as an Associate Professor (Sr. Grade) in the Department of CSE & IT, JIIT, Noida with 19 years of teaching experience.
Her research interest include Pattern Recognition, Computational Intelligence, Digital Image Processing and Computer Science Education.
In session 2, Dr. Anita discussed various principles of Computation Intelligence, machine learning, requisites of Computation Intelligence in Digital Image Processing taking example of medical images. She discussed analysis of CT Scan image analysis using segmentation and meta-heuristic guided feature subset selection. She also discussed grey wolf optimizer based feature subset selection method that is a multi-objective optimization.

Speaker: Dr. Akash Punhani was the speaker of the last session. Dr. Akash Punhani is currently working as an Assistant Professor in Amity School of Engineering and Technology, Amity University, Noida.
He discussed about Evolutionary Algorithms and optimization problem. Discussed about Unimodal and Multimodal functions with examples of global and local minima. He discussed the constraints, concept of population, fitness scaling,selection mutation crossover etc. He provided a Hands-on session on solving Image segmentation using MATLAB with Rastrigin function for optimization.

Speaker: Mr Varun Goel is an Assistant Consultant in Tata Consultancy Services. Working in capacity of technical solution consultant for US based Animal health pharmaceuticals. He has done Data Science certification from IIT Madras and is a Tableau Certified from Tableau.
He took the hands-on session on tableau and how tableau enable data visualization so-easily. He described the tools functionalities and different available features. He has given the hands-on session on following charts:
Bar Chart , Line Chart, Pie Chart, Gantt Chart, Filled Maps, Scatter Plot, Interactive Dashboards.

Speaker: Dr K.K Mishra is currently working in Department of Computer Science & Engineering, Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology, Allahabad, India. He is Ph.D. from MNNIT, Allahabad and has done his MTech from AKTU, Lucknow with around 19 years of teaching experience.
He started with different gadgets that use artificial intelligence. There are so many startups that use AI to transform industry and their importance in healthcare sector. He discussed different machine learning, transport, financial services, e-commerce etc. applications including social media. He also discussed relationships among components of Intelligent Systems, Deep learning etc.

Speaker: Dr. Nitin Singh is currently working as Associate Professor in Department of Electrical Engineering, Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology Allahabad, India
He discussed about artificial neural networks and its applications. He started with the concept of intelligence: natural and Artificial Intelligence. He discussed different branches of AI, neural networks, difference between artificial v/s biological neural network, neural network architecture etc. He also discussed concept of smart grids, electricity consumption etc.

Session speaker K.K. Mishra continued his session on computation intelligence techniques like fuzzy sets, ANN, Evolutionary computing, Swarm intelligence, artificial immune system. He discussed difference between fuzzy systems and neural network. He then started with genetic algorithms and genetic programming.

Last session was taken by Prof. Nitin Singh from MNNIT Allahabad. He discussed about Computation Intelligence and it’s Application in various fields. He explained the concept of neuro-fuzzy systems. He explained AI application in driver less cars, electricity distribution, smart grids, He concluded that Computational Intelligence provides success stories that are often hard to justify with formal mathematical models (which are but a subset of all computational models, some of which are based on mathematics, and some of which are not).
This was followed by valedictory ceremony and certificate distribution to participants. Dr. Vikash Yadav , Dr. Anil Dubey, Mrs. Mala Saraswat & Mr. Rohit Rastogi were the Coordinators of FDP Program.
